Weather vagaries and Meerlust’s exacting quality requirements determine that not every vintage is worthy of our flagship red blend Rubicon. Thus is born, in rare years, our collector’s Meerlust Red 2019. The Red 2019 is a blend of  Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot aged in French oak for 17 months.

In the vineyard:  Lodolaio comes from pure Sangiovese grapes obtained from the reproduction through mass selection of vines of very ancient origin, in a soil composed mainly of marl and alberese.  The year 2016 was characterized by constant heat, without excessive peaks, which helped the ripening of the grapes.

A dense, complex Brunello from one of the most beautiful and iconic vineyards in Montalcino. The Podernovi vineyard is a three-hectare site with excellent south-east exposure, situated at 450 metres above sea level.
