Beautiful fruit purity of limes and ripe gooseberry, with tropical, floral and fine herbal notes, ruby grapefruit and white pear drop on the finish. This is cool climate Sauvignon Blanc – vibrant, mineral, elegant, balanced and delicate, with a long, layered and complex finish.
Eat with: Fresh asparagus, chicken and seafood.
This wine comes from the hilltop town of Sancerre on the left bank of the Upper Loire at an elevation of around 300m. The flint, gravel and limestone soils yield a mineral character to the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Grapes picked from vineyard blocks are vinified separately and then blended together for best balance. Tasting Note: Deep ruby red. On the nose, aromas of forest fruits are complemented by spicy notes. The flavours on the palate are round and concentrated, supported by firm tannins that indicate maturity and balance.
The 2016 gained huge praise having been awarded 100 points by Luis Gutierrez (Wine Advocate / Robertparker.com) and the 2017 has also been scored very highly getting 98 points, the top score from Luis for any wine coming from that vintage in Argentina.
