Zuccardi Finca Piedra Infinita Malbec 2017 - IN BOND

zuccardi finca piedra infinita malbec - wimbledon wine cellar

The 2016 gained huge praise having been awarded 100 points by Luis Gutierrez (Wine Advocate / Robertparker.com) and the 2017 has also been scored very highly getting 98 points, the top score from Luis for any wine coming from that vintage in Argentina. In his report Luis states “The Zuccardis are one of the hardest working wine families in Argentina—and the world. I’ve talked about their progression repeatedly in my previous articles, and I can only repeat myself here. Their wines are getting better and better…”

James Suckling also rates this wine highly awarding it 97 points and the following note: “This is very intense with blackberry and blueberry character, as well as hot stones and granite. Full body. Chewy tannins fan out across the palate. A serious, powerful wine. Needs at least four or five years to soften. Impressive. Try in 2025”

"Piedra Infinita is a regular feature on any list of Argentina’s best Malbecs and is well up to scratch in 2017. Made with fruit from eight, particularly stony parcels, it’s a serious, layered, intensely chalky wine that’s both dense and extremely refreshing at the same time. Black fruits, nuanced oak and chiselled acidity combine appealingly on the palate here." 97 | Tim Atkin MW, May 2020
