Pian delle Vigne has adopted the philosophy of aging in large casks that preserves the exceptional integrity of the Sangiovese berry and imparts the characteristic vibrant elegance of Brunello to the wine. Brunello Pian delle Vigne is an extraordinary expression with great finesse.

Since the first vintage in 2001, Helichrysum has become sought after for its liberal, focused minerality which comes from the fossils found in the vineyards and is a wine Katia affectionately refers to as their ‘gifted student’, which is reflected in the lavish care with which it’s handled.

2019 saw a cold winter with some snow, but rarely sub-zero temperatures. When spring came it gave a dry March and adequate rain in April and May.

92 pts, Monica Larner – robertparker.com. The Fattoi 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva has a dark and savory set of aromas with blackcurrant, spice, baked rye bread and toasted cumin seed. The oak is very present in this wine, and it adds to the tannins and the rather broad approach of the mouthfeel.

The fruit for the Riserva 2016 is sourced exclusively from Tenuta Greppo’s oldest vines. The Riserva 2016 was vinified entirely in a mixture of Slavonian oak barrels. The wine is aged for three years in Slavonian oak barrels and aged in bottle before release.

A dense, complex Brunello from one of the most beautiful and iconic vineyards in Montalcino. The Podernovi vineyard is a three-hectare site with excellent south-east exposure, situated at 450 metres above sea level. Fattoi's Rosso di Montalcino comes from Sangiovese grapes, left to refine for a few months in oak barrels. The bouquet offers notes of small red fruits and morello cherries, while on the palate it is dry and persuasive, with a beautiful freshness and excellent persistence.

La Storica refers to late release bottlings from the winery and 1999 Riserva was selected for its stylistic reminiscence with the 2016 Riserva.
