In the vineyard: Lodolaio comes from pure Sangiovese grapes obtained from the reproduction through mass selection of vines of very ancient origin, in a soil composed mainly of marl and alberese. The year 2016 was characterized by constant heat, without excessive peaks, which helped the ripening of the grapes.
Jancis robinson 16++ points: Lustrous mid ruby. Deep, brooding, sweet cherry on the nose. Succulent, if a little austere right now, but with plenty of potential. (WS)
94 pts, Monica Larner – robertparker.com. The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers sweet fruit with lots of bright cherry and redcurrant. This Brunello reveals medium-rich concentration and an opulent mouthfeel with a smooth or almost creamy quality of fruit.
Duty paid and delivered to your door this weekend.

Petite Sirah is a close relative to Syrah. Like Syrah, it is a dark-coloured grape that yields wines with floral aromas, deep colour and full, rich tannins. San Polino’s classic and characteristically delicate Brunello di Montalcino is from 5 hectares in the northeast of the appellation, on deep clay soils.
2019 saw a cold winter with some snow, but rarely sub-zero temperatures. When spring came it gave a dry March and adequate rain in April and May.
Brunello is a red wine of great power and elegance, the ultimate expression of Sangiovese.
Intense aromas of citrus and saline minerals and vinified in stainless steel tanks to give a pure expression of Santorini Assyrtiko. Match with feta salad, barbecued aubergine, or fresh seafood.
Robert Parker.com "This is a new winery flexing it's muscles. Great wines."
