Syrah can be made into a wide range of styles from simple and fruity to complex, brooding and powerful. Aromas and flavors can range from black fruits and white pepper to any "earthy" descriptor like bacon, leather, game and especially, burnt rubber.

Ridge Lytton Estate Petite Sirah 2019 Under Bond
Petite Sirah is a close relative to Syrah. Like Syrah, it is a dark-coloured grape that yields wines with floral aromas, deep colour and full, rich tannins. To moderate tannins, we fermented the grapes de-stemmed, as whole berries. Aging in twenty-five percent new oak over sixteen months has softened the wine.
