Intense and deep ruby ​​red color, with an enveloping, fruity aroma of cherry and raspberry, a complex of pleasantly balanced spices and vanilla. On the palate it is rich, ample and velvety, with great structure and aromatic persistence, with elegant and gentle tannins.

The Fonterutoli estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico DOC in Tuscany and has remained in the same family for 24 generations. The Mazzei family owns 117 hectares of vine, divided in 120 parcels all harvested by hand. Grapes are vinified and matured separately in order to  add complexity to the wines.

In the vineyard: Sangiovese 88% and Canaiolo 12%, the soils are mainly composed of marl and alberese with a smaller percentage of boulder and sandstone. The 2021 vintage followed a regular trend. The winter was generally dry, with temperatures close to the seasonal average.

Allegrini’s take on the “Ripasso” method is made from a portion of grapes dried just for this wine (and not from the Amarone pomace). It's a smooth, velvety wine with ripe, juicy dark fruit and silky tannins.
