Our Wines

Shafer’s single-vineyard Carneros-grown Chardonnay is produced from small-clustered clones of grapes selected for their low yields and distinctive flavors. Fermentation takes place within individual oak and stainless steel barrels using native yeasts.

From the master of french grape varieties, Kiros Melas has once again raised the bar in the world of European rosé wines. After the initial success of Idylle rosé which has swept Europe by surprise, this bon viveur has now produced a micro cuvée of fine elegant pale rosé.

Tasting notes: "Deep garnet-purple in color with a violet rim. Nose offers intense blueberry and rasberry notes, freshness of the blackcurrant bud perfectly combined with the spices of the wood (vanilla, toasted aromas).

*Prices in bond* Awatea takes its name from the historic ship, SS Awatea  that sailed the Auckland - Sydney - Wellington route in the late 1930s.  The final blend is aged in new and seasoned French oak for 15 months.

Petite Sirah is a close relative to Syrah. Like Syrah, it is a dark-coloured grape that yields wines with floral aromas, deep colour and full, rich tannins. To moderate tannins, we fermented the grapes de-stemmed, as whole berries. Aging in twenty-five percent new oak over sixteen months has softened the wine.
