This wine comes from the hilltop town of Sancerre on the left bank of the Upper Loire at an elevation of around 300m. The flint, gravel and limestone soils yield a mineral character to the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Grapes picked from vineyard blocks are vinified separately and then blended together for best balance. No oak ageing.

Still a wine of discretion, Didier has made wines which completely avoid heaviness while still delivering all that is necessary in concentration and backbone.

92-95 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy: Fresh pale green tint. Didier describes this as the entry level grand cru. The average age of the vines is at or above 60 years.
