x1 Galeyrand Chardonnay 2020 - 88 points, William Kelley, Robertparker.com: Notes of pear, grapefruit and bread dough introduce the 2020 Bourgogne Chardonnay Orane, a medium-bodied, satiny and incisive wine with a tangy spine of acidity and a saline finish. This has turned out nicely.

Made from 90% Tempranillo, 6% Graciano and 4% Garnacha, the Roda I 2017 has fantastic concentration of fruit on the nose with aromatic layers of abundant black plum and blueberries, cloves, black pepper and cinnamon. In the background there is a subtle white flower quality and aromas of moist earth and pleasant minerality.

Delicious white fruit, very balanced, feel the limestone, enough flesh yet with precision as well. A longer and more mineral finish than Forgets.

A little bit of honeysuckle and musk here, but a significant concentration of fruit on the palate, with a density of texture. Plenty of wine to work with here. Drink from 2024-2027. Anyone who meets Jérome is instantly attracted to his love of Burgundy. He is now seen as one of the leading lights in the region when it comes to the Aligoté grape. The Aligoté wines here are serious. Incredible elegance, finesse and a real quality that is not often seen. He has championed the grape variety and the results are wonderful.

Allegrini’s take on the “Ripasso” method is made from a portion of grapes dried just for this wine (and not from the Amarone pomace). It's a smooth, velvety wine with ripe, juicy dark fruit and silky tannins.

96 points Susan Hulme MW TWI “The 2017 Biondi Santi Brunello has a lightly fragrant oak nose with notes of cream and vanilla and cherry. The weight is beautifully ethereal with a little of that weightless quality that you find in very fine wines.

The2019 vintage started early and ended later than normal. Spring saw good levels of rainfall which helped maintain water storage levels ready for the warmer months. Summer was one of the hottest on record in Montalcino area. August was marked by cooler temperatures and some rain that replenished water reserves.
