94 Points – Owen Bargreen: Golden straw color, notes of citrus, vanilla and apple on the nose. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with pear fruit, good minerality, a hint of honey and a long clean finish.

100% Chardonnay

Year after year this Shafer-owned vineyard offers up wine with plush, exotic, zesty aromas and flavors. This is Shafer’s single-vineyard Carneros-grown Chardonnay, matured on the lees for around 14 months. To quote the critic Antonio Galloni, `Soft, creamy and layered in the glass, the 2019 possesses superb balance from the outset.

Blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The wine was aged for 19 months in oak. The Eisele Vineyard grapes are certified ‘Organic’ by CCOF and ‘Biodynamic’ by Demeter
