Shafer’s single-vineyard Carneros-grown Chardonnay is produced from small-clustered clones of grapes selected for their low yields and distinctive flavors. Fermentation takes place within individual oak and stainless steel barrels using native yeasts.

Tasting Note: Bright and deep purple colour. Aromas of black fruits, reminiscent of fresh plums mixed with graphite notes. On the palate, the wine is balanced and energetic, with sweet and round tannins and long finish.

The2019 vintage started early and ended later than normal. Spring saw good levels of rainfall which helped maintain water storage levels ready for the warmer months. Summer was one of the hottest on record in Montalcino area. August was marked by cooler temperatures and some rain that replenished water reserves.
