91/100 William Kelley, Wine Advocate: "Bursting with aromas of sweet red berries, cherries, dried flowers and raw cocoa, the 2017 Volnay Village is medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, its succulent core of fruit framed by exquisitely refined tannins and lively acids.

Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir is not overtly fruity, soft and “sweet” and it generally shows hints of that alluring “primal” character along with a dark, spicy, complex primary fruit perfume.
*All prices in bond* 87-88 Points Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy. Mid red, a little brighter. Some zest to the fresh red fruit. Still a little bit firm at the finish, but the fruit carries on
through. Some similarity to 2017 suggests Christine. The fruit returns prettily to finish. Drink from 2024-2027.
Swartland Chenin blanc needs no introduction, having long assumed its place among the world’s key expressions of the grape variety. Langkloof, where we source our grapes for this wine, is an old bush vine Chenin blanc vineyard planted on the granite slopes of the Paardeberg that belongs to the Roussouw family.
Wine Safari Score: 95+/100 Greg Sherwood MW: First tasted in March 2023 with André in the Swartland, this wine has blossomed over the past six months into something really very exciting.

91-93, Neal Martin, October 2023. The 2022 Pommard Les Chaponnieres ler Cru contains 30% whole bunches and was raised in 40% new French oak. The nose offers brambly red fruit, hints of graphite and an endearing sense of Pinote; this is more elegant than the Chanlins.
90-92, Neal Martin, October 2023. The 2022 Monthelie Les Champs Fulliots ler Cru comes from purchased fruit, although the Domaine controls the harvest, matured in less than 30% new oak. Pretty, pastille-like red and blueberry fruit on the nose, this is well-defined and comely.
POA Wine Safari Score: 95-97/100 Greg Sherwood MW. A newly inherited 0.41-hectare plot yielding 6 barrels of one of the most coveted and treasured Pinot Noirs crus in Burgundy.
POA 93-95, Neal Martin, November 2023. The 2022 Echezeaux Les Loachausses Grand Cru is the maiden release from a 0.38-hectare strip that hitherto was part of the cuvee produced by Gros Frere & Soeur and is matured in 100% new oak.
Wine Safari Score: 90-92/100 Greg Sherwood MW. Classical nose of earthy savoury bramble berry fruits, Asian spices, liquorice and black berry.
Wine Safari Score: 90-92/100 Greg Sherwood MW. On the southern side of Gevrey, this classical wine shows blood and earthy meaty red fruits, sour plum and strawberry compote nuances.
91-93, Neal Martin, November 2023. The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis En la Rue Vergy bides its time in the glass, opening with scents of cranberry, white-tipped strawberry and some black fruit, a deft touch of tobacco in the background.
84-86, Neal Martin, November 2023. The 2022 Bourgogne Cote d'Or has a perfumed nose, maraschino cherries mixed with mulberry and a touch of orange zest. The palate is sweet on the entry, with low acidity, quite fleshy and dense.
86-89, Allen Meadows, Burghound. Tasted: Jan 10, 2024. Tasting note: A more elegant and slightly cooler nose reflects lightly spiced fruit that derives more from the red side of the spectrum.
