Wine Safari Score: 95/100 Greg Sherwood MW: The Axle Chenin Blanc is made by Alex Milner of Natte Valleij winery from grapes sourced from a dryland old bush vine certified Darling heritage block planted in 1985 on decomposed granite soils.

A little bit of honeysuckle and musk here, but a significant concentration of fruit on the palate, with a density of texture. Plenty of wine to work with here. Drink from 2024-2027. This wine is mineral driven, with slight floral notes and a steely crisp acidity which makes you want to go back for more. A classic and classy Chablis, showcasing the mineral terroir beautifully with notes of flint stone and fleshy fruits lingering on the palate. A wine that goes well with Burgundy snails, Chablis sausage and seafood.

Grown on flint and limestone soils and sandy terraces.
Following on from cold static settling, the fermentation takes place at low temperatures in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.
