This multi-vintage wine has a dark ruby red colour. The nose is elegant with a charming bouquet of juicy berries, dark cherries and plums. The toasty aromas following extended maturation in oak are well integrated. On the palate, the wine has a well-balanced tannic structure and a silky texture.
96 points Susan Hulme MW TWI “The 2017 Biondi Santi Brunello has a lightly fragrant oak nose with notes of cream and vanilla and cherry. The weight is beautifully ethereal with a little of that weightless quality that you find in very fine wines.

91+/100 Greg Sherwood MW, A Fine Wine Safari. Never a wine to shout about it’s pedigree, instead it prefers to whisper confidently about it’s regal heritage.
Tasting Note: Its colour is a deep ruby red, showing garnet reflections while young. With its predominately berry-fruit bouquet, this wine shows the full aromatic power of these two noble grape varieties whilst retaining the freshness imparted by well-controlled wine making.
The Fonterutoli estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico DOC in Tuscany and has remained in the same family for 24 generations. The Mazzei family owns 117 hectares of vine, divided in 120 parcels all harvested by hand. Grapes are vinified and matured separately in order to add complexity to the wines.
Considering the continued warm and dry temperatures that Montalcino has witnessed in the last years, 2018 is a vintage characterized by freshness and finesse with bright fruit,
medium body, and excellent acidity.
