86-89, Allen Meadows, Burghound. Tasted: Jan 10, 2024. Tasting note: A more elegant and slightly cooler nose reflects lightly spiced fruit that derives more from the red side of the spectrum.

Wine Safari Score: 91-93+/100 Greg Sherwood MW. Mostly sourced from a climat called Les Argillieres (66%). The aromatics are fine and beautifully perfumed, elegantly red fruited and attractive with pink flowers, red cherry fruits and an attractive pink musk spice.
Wine Safari Score: 88-91/100 Greg Sherwood MW. Taut yellow stone fruit aromatics lead to a sleek supple palate with plenty of yellow citrus fruit concentration, a hint of caramelised fig, green melon and a delicate tarte tatin richness on the finish. Really attractive and seductive and ready to drink on release.
(85-87) Neal Martin
The 2022 Bourgogne Roncevie has commendable fruit concentration on the nose, with black cherries and bilberry fruit. The palate is well-balanced, and the 10% new oak neatly integrated. It is quite sweet, with touches of blackcurrant pastilles towards the finish. Fine.
Wine Safari Score: 91-92+/100 Greg Sherwood MW. Made from a blend of three separate plots, this Nuits is deep, dark and broody, a very serious offering with layers of savoury black fruits and a smoky graphite minerality.
Wine Safari Score: 91-93/100 Greg Sherwood MW Sourced from the Aux Communes plot, the nose shows savoury red and black berry fruits, some earthy hints, and a classic Asian five spice complexity over a subtle struck flint reduction notes.
Wine Safari Score: 92-93+/100 Greg Sherwood MW An alluring, exotic aromatics of black currant, black plum, musk and pink flowers before more traditional dusty mineral limestone notes. There is a lovely breadth and depth of flavour in the mouth, creamy fine-tuned mineral tannins and a long, fresh, harmonious finish.
Wine Safari Score: 93-95/100 Greg Sherwood MW. A very sophisticated wine whispering true class and pedigree. The aromatics are delicate, intricate and wonderfully perfumed with notes of violets, rose petals, red cherries and pink musk.
Wine Safari Score: 92-94+/100 Greg Sherwood MW. Deep, expressive and very classy, the nose shows perfumed spicy rose petal notes before meatier red and black fruits over crushed limestone, struck flint and a certain sapidity.
(89-91) Neal Martin The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village, aged in 10% new oak and completely de-stemmed, has an attractive bouquet demonstrating a little more nuance than the Morey Village. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins on the entry.
(89-91) Neal Martin The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is what you might call the most transparent of Arlaud's Village Cru, with lifted wild strawberry and raspberry fruit and a little more tension and delineation.
(92-94) Neal Martin The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Aux Chesaux 1er Cru is very delineated and harmonious on the nose, with blackberry and wild strawberry fruit, crushed rock and light dried rose petal scents from the whole bunches. The medium-bodied palate has a fresh, saline entry, beautifully structured with gentle grip.
Wine Safari Score: 92-93/100 Greg Sherwood MW. A blend of two village parcels En Seuvres and Clos Solon that sees 10% new oak, this 2022 shows seductive, exotic aromatics of red plum, red currant jelly and smoky earthy cherry hints. The texture is incredibly pure and polished, seamless, showing great balance and harmony.
Chablis is an isolated island of vineyards in the northern section of wine-producing Burgundy halfway between Dijon and Paris. Maison Louis Latour's Chablis is the ultimate expression of what the noble Chardonnay grape is capable of on the region's famous Kimmeridgian limestone slopes.
*All prices in bond* 88-90 pts, 3 stars, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy Brisk lively purple with a much more classy pinot bouquet. Raspberry with cherry in the background and this kicks on as it should, with a generous layer of red fruit at the back of the palate. Slightly dry finish nonetheless. Drink from 2027-2030.
*All prices in bond* 88-92 pts, 4 stars, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy A light green tint in the colour, with a fresh and floral nose, as always with a touch of lime blossom. Fine energy on the palate without putting on too much flesh, indeed medium bodied, quite an elegant hillside Meursault. Drink from 2026-2031.
*All prices in bond* 93-95 pts 4 Stars, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy This is still in barrel, unracked. Pale primrose, the bouquet is less easy to discern at this stage, with a minor oxidative note and some reduction. Put that to one side.
*All prices in bond* 87-89 pts 4 stars Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy A similar colour, pale primrose perhaps. A little bit crisper and more classic in bouquet. Delicious white fruit, very balanced, feel the limestone, enough flesh yet with precision as well. A longer and more mineral finish than Forgets.
*All prices in bond* 88 - 90 pts, 3 Stars, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy Pale lemon colour. Not much nose in these small glasses. There is good tension here on the palate, a crisp lemon note along with some fresh apples. Not immediately intense but with good length. A little touch of the positive youthful bitters.
*All prices in bond* 86 - 88 3 Stars, Jasper Morris, MW, Inside Burgundy Mid lemon and lime, restrained nose. A little bit of honeysuckle and musk here, but a significant concentration of fruit on the palate, with a density of texture. Plenty of wine to work with here. Drink from 2024-2027. Tasted: October 2023.
*All prices in bond* 87 - 89 pts 3 stars Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy Mid crimson red and paler at the rim. Not much bouquet. The fruit reappears on the palate, but a little astringent behind. Fairly typical village Aloxe. Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted: October 2023.
