(89-91) Neal Martin The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is what you might call the most transparent of Arlaud's Village Cru, with lifted wild strawberry and raspberry fruit and a little more tension and delineation. The palate is well-balanced with a sapid entry, quite tensile with a spicy, quite muscular finish, considering this is a Village Cru.
Wine Safari Score: 92-94/100 Greg Sherwood MW. A blend of two plots, Les Seuvres and some La Justice, the aromatics are plush and sweet fruited, packed with savoury strawberry and black berry fruits but also subtle meaty chargrilled hints. Cool, sleek and silky on the palate, there’s a notable precision and pin point polish to the texture, revealing hints of creamy blueberry and black currant and a bright, saline mineral finish. Quite stunning for a village wine.
