(85-87) Neal Martin
The 2022 Bourgogne Roncevie has commendable fruit concentration on the nose, with black cherries and bilberry fruit. The palate is well-balanced, and the 10% new oak neatly integrated. It is quite sweet, with touches of blackcurrant pastilles towards the finish. Fine.
Wine Safari Score: 89-91/100 Greg Sherwood MW. Made from grapes sourced from a parcel in Gevrey Chambertin that used to be entitled to the communal appellation, the 2022 shows wonderfully precise perfumed aromatics that are fragrant and deliciously inviting boasting violets, creme de cassis and red cherry over some darker, more savoury black fruit notes that marry well with the 10% new oak portion. Bright, pure fruited, finishing with incredible length and intensity. A beautifully polished expression that undoubtedly over delivers.
