Chateau de L’Escarelle of one of the most prestigious wine estates in the heart of Provence, with 100 hectares of organically certified vineyards set in 1,000 hectares of beautiful woodland.

*Prices in bond* A broody dark fruited Pinot Noir with a wealth of hidden depth and complexity. Coaxed out the glass, the wine reveals beautifully complex layers of spicy strawberry, morello cherry and juniper berry with a pronounced maritime salinity and dusty limestone depth.

Wine Safari Score: 93-95/100 Greg Sherwood MW. A deep dark broody expression showing all the latent power and muscle of Clos Vougeot. There are layers of dark spicy plum, bramble berry fruits and a smoky wood ember nuance before a limestone minerality.

From the upper part of Les Treux. Glowing purple. The nose is discreet. The palate does the Echezeaux latticework thing with lots of detail, and exceptional length. Goes on dancing, tiptoeing, across the palate for a long time. Just one barrel. The fruit stays with me.
