96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2021: "The 2019 Cepparello is super-impressive, even though it has just been bottled. Ample and creamy, with its classic sense of mid-weight structure, the 2019 has so much to offer. Silky tannins wrap around a core of red/purplish berry fruit.
The Costanti family has owned this 10-hectare estate in Montalcino for over 200 years. In the latter part of the 19th century, Count Tito Costanti [1827-1895], Clementi Santi and Ferruccio Biondi Santi were pioneers in Montalcino.
Since the first vintage in 2001, Helichrysum has become sought after for its liberal, focused minerality which comes from the fossils found in the vineyards and is a wine Katia affectionately refers to as their ‘gifted student’, which is reflected in the lavish care with which it’s handled.
2019 saw a cold winter with some snow, but rarely sub-zero temperatures. When spring came it gave a dry March and adequate rain in April and May.
