Despite an impressive vineyard area of 237 hectares, it is extremely rare to come across champagnes dominated by this fantastic Cru.

New release of 2008 R.D. from Champagne Bollinger.  The 2008 is a gorgeous blend of 71% Pinot Noir and 29% Chardonnay: 90% of the fruit is from Grand Cru vineyards (and the remainder from Premier Crus) - mainly Ay and Verzenay for the Pinot Noir, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant for the Chardonnay.

Over the past 47 years, Rare Champagne has only released 15 prestige cuvées across 13 vintages. Rare Brut Millésime 2013 is only the 12th iteration of its kind. Rare was considered Piper Heidsieck’s prestige cuvée until 2019. Rare Champagne was separated to form its own standalone house as we know it today.

Bright, golden hue with shimmering highlights. Fine, lively mousse with lingering threads of bubbles. The bouquet is open and rich yet also wonderfully fresh.

The wines of 5th-generation Jean-Michel Chartron are "well worth seeking out" (Neal Martin). That includes this opulent and creamy Crémant fizz, made from pure Chardonnay. Bright apple and citrus, with floral and biscuit notes and fine bubbles.

Driven by the finesse of its bubbles, the balance between the expression aromatic and vinous gives this crémant a charming personality and seduction.
