Anyone who meets Jérome is instantly attracted to his love of Burgundy. He is now seen as one of the leading lights in the region when it comes to the Aligoté grape. The Aligoté wines here are serious. Incredible elegance, finesse and a real quality that is not often seen. He has championed the grape variety and the results are wonderful.

Claire Naudin's perfect Echezeaux is an embodiment of fine fruit and finesse that is seldom seen in this appellation. Power is not evident in this super bottling, it is replaced by finesse and a ballerina-like aroma of charm and cherries.

A relatively unknown domaine, however the exquisite wines are no accident. With winemaking overseen by Pierre Millemann, it was no surprise when we tasted at the domaine last autumn that the wines are luscious and elegant. Chablis is an isolated island of vineyards in the northern section of wine-producing Burgundy halfway between Dijon and Paris. Maison Louis Latour's Chablis is the ultimate expression of what the noble Chardonnay grape is capable of on the region's famous kimmeridgian limestone slopes.

A full crimson red colour. There is a weight and generosity of fruit on the nose which the lesser appellations slightly missed.
