Antinori Vermentino Bolgheri 2022 - IN BOND

antinori vermentino - wimbledon wine cellar

Born in 1996 from the desire to rediscover a native variety characteristic of the Tyrrhenian coastal area, recognized since the 1990s for its aromatic qualities. The Bolgheri microclimate, particularly suitable for the production of Vermentino both due to the conformation of the territory and the proximity to the sea, gives the wine a marked minerality and freshness as well as enhancing its aromatic component.

Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located in the small and prestigious DOC of Bolgheri, on the coast of Alta Maremma, about a hundred kilometers south-west of Florence. This denomination has a relatively short history (born in 1995) but boasts an international reputation as a new point of reference in the world wine scene. Tenuta Guado al Tasso extends over an area of 320 hectares planted with vineyards, in a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the "Bolgheri amphitheatre" due to its particular conformation. The Guado al Tasso vineyards are mainly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Vermentino grapes. They enjoy a mild climate due to the nearby presence of the sea: the constant breezes mitigate the summer heat and the rigors of winter.

Soil: Of alluvial origin, with a silty-sandy to sandy texture.

A dry white wine made from the Vermentino grape variety. This wine has a straw-yellow color and delicate aromas of white fruit, floral notes, and a hint of minerality. The palate is fresh and lively, with a rich texture that balances the wine's acidity.

Food: Ideal with pasta, appetizers, fish a nd cured meats.
