Wine Safari Score: 95/100 Greg Sherwood MW: The Axle Chenin Blanc is made by Alex Milner of Natte Valleij winery from grapes sourced from a dryland old bush vine certified Darling heritage block planted in 1985 on decomposed granite soils.

A little bit of honeysuckle and musk here, but a significant concentration of fruit on the palate, with a density of texture. Plenty of wine to work with here. Drink from 2024-2027. Tasted: October 2023.
This wine is mineral driven, with slight floral notes and a steely crisp acidity which makes you want to go back for more. A classic and classy Chablis, showcasing the mineral terroir beautifully with notes of flint stone and fleshy fruits lingering on the palate. A wine that goes well with Burgundy snails, Chablis sausage and seafood.
*Prices in Bond* Piercingly fresh, intense aromatics reveals hints of sweet pear, apple purée, white blossom, and seductive honeysuckle. On the palate, the freshness and vibrant white citrus fruits melt into a pithy, stony, briney saline liquid minerality.
*Prices in Bond* Showing a youthful, taut, slightly flinty reductive character on the nose with chocolate and raspberry nuances. The palate reveals tart glassy acids with a sleek structure, saline maritime tension, and a pithy, smoky, slightly savoury leesy limestone minerality on the finish.
