“The great white wines of Ladoucette, [are] considered a world reference of Sauvignon”
This Pouilly-Fumé is elegant and classic in style sourced from the 165 acres of estate vines. No plot lies more than six minutes from the winery, so the grapes are always picked and pressed at optimum quality. A pale, brilliant gold with golden highlights. A complex olfactory expression dominated by very ripe fruit and the minerality from the limestone pebbles. Breathing reveals the floral notes of white flowers, followed by citrus fruit but also white fruit (peaches).
Since the end of the 18th century, the Comtes Lafond family has owned the largest and most renowned of the Pouilly Fumé vineyards.
Baron Patrick de Ladoucette has perpetuated this tradition of very high quality and has added to the 200 years of history a rare cuvée, Baron de L, which sublimates exceptional work and terroir. This remarkable cuvée is only produced during the great vintages. Baron de L is recognized as one of the greatest Sauvignon wines in the world, with exceptional finesse and breadth.
Baron Patrick de Ladoucette then extended his know-how to the Sancerre vineyard and perpetuated the Comte Lafond name for his great Sancerre cuvées in exceptional 18th century bottles reminiscent of those used by his grandfather.
A few years later, the Clos de la Poussie, mythical vineyard of Sancerre being for sale, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette acquired it. This south-facing natural amphitheater makes it possible to produce a special cuvée, the Haut de la Poussie.
