Tasting notes: "Deep garnet-purple in color with a violet rim. Nose offers intense blueberry and rasberry notes, freshness of the blackcurrant bud perfectly combined with the spices of the wood (vanilla, toasted aromas). Smooth, full of taste with a medium body structure. Cyrus One 2019 is a pleasant wine ready to be aged but lovely now too" ~ Kyros Melas, Elsa Picard
Vintage 2019
The lower than usual temperatures of the 2019's vintage brought tension and freshness to the wine. The Nemea crop was characterized by a rainy autumn. Harvest
was late September. In Achinos the generous crop was harvested from August to the beginning of September, despite the rainy spring and quite cool summer.
Cyrus One was born from the idea to marry two beautiful terroirs. Two different worlds. The ancient Nemea, in the Peloponnese, with its wonderful Agiorgitiko variety, where for centuries its land with its silt and lime soils offer their freshness and fruity style. Then the newer terroir on the slopes of Achinos, Central Greece bordered by the sea where the Merlot and Cabernet Franc varieties excel in the limestone soil. This provides the wonderful balance in this unusual blend.
