Dubreuil Fontaine Pommard Epenots 2021

dubreuil fontaine en primeur 2021 - wimbledon wine cellar

*All prices in bond*  89-92 Points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy. A mid crimson purple colour. The Epenots ripened well in 2021 and that shows in the nature of the fruit, discreet on the nose, but filling the mouth relatively well. Just slightly bitter tannins behind. Additional elevage may pay dividends here.

Neal Martin, Vinous. 89-90 Points. The 2021 Pommard Epenots 1er Cru offers rather introspective dark berry fruit laced with tobacco and damp moss scents, plus a hint of baking powder. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It’s taut and fresh, with crisp acidity and a “punchy” saline finish. Broad-shouldered and square-jawed perhaps, yet not without charm.
