*En Primeur 2019 In Bond Pricing* “...Charles Ballot is producing serious wines, old-fashioned in the best sense, that deserve to be better known.” William Kelley, Wine Advocate, February 2020
“Criots” is from very rocky, hard soils under Santenots and is tighter and more minerally than “Narvaux”. The wine itself seems to reflect this, showing a lovely mix of fragrance and stoniness whilst displaying good power on the finish. The oak is subtly entwined (around 15% new) and there is a touch of spice and sense of purity. An excellent village wine.
