The village of Lugny is located high up in the South of the Mâcon region. It has a great reputation for its white wines which has made Mâcon famous. It is well known that the village of Lugny, with its limestone soils and warm climate, produces the most coveted white wines of the region. The vineyard of « Les Genièvres » is one of the best.
This cuvee consists of 70% Sauvignon Blanc Musqué and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. The wine was aged on its lees for 12 months, in a combination of stainless steel (28%), concrete eggs (14%), used oak (36%) and new oak (22%). The Eisele Vineyard grapes are certified ‘Organic’ by CCOF and ‘Biodynamic’ by Demeter.
A beautifully rich, yet balanced California-style Chardonnay that represents what the Arroyo Seco appellation has to offer. Chardonnay flavours of apple and pear, whilst the Arroyo Seco fruit consistently provides aromas and flavours of tropical and stone fruits.
Generally consumed as early as the year following the harvest and in the following 4-5 years. Serve chilled but not cold: 11 - 12 ° C. Open at the last moment.

Shafer’s single-vineyard Carneros-grown Chardonnay is produced from small-clustered clones of grapes selected for their low yields and distinctive flavors. Fermentation takes place within individual oak and stainless steel barrels using native yeasts.
Fresh aromas of grapefruit zest and lemon curd with underlying notes of citrus blossom and hints of stone fruit. A zesty and textural palate.
