Shafer’s single-vineyard Carneros-grown Chardonnay is produced from small-clustered clones of grapes selected for their low yields and distinctive flavors. Fermentation takes place within individual oak and stainless steel barrels using native yeasts.

Some plums, some fresh apple, a steady build up in flesh towards the back of the palate, a good balancing acidity, and fine persistence. Really very good indeed.

Pretty lemon with a lime tint, this is a little stricter at first on the nose, after bottling, but with a wonderful wealth of apple and fresh pear fruit behind, and very good length.
