This family have been producing wine since 1974. Patrick Javillier is a bon viveur and a very engaging, personable character. He can amuse a table for several hours which is always a joy when visiting the Domaine. He produces several wines, all of which receive the same attention as any of his Grand Crus. His humble Bourgogne blanc is worthy of a much higher appellation - this wine has been a staple diet at Wimbledon Wine Cellar for the past 10 years. It over delivers. His Meursault cuvées are a dream and it is in this appellation that he has truly excelled being rated as one of the top 3 growers of the villlage. His Corton-Charlemagne it is without doubt one of the finest to be found. Allocations of the 2016 are small, please enquire. Through marriage, Patrick has inherited vineyards in Savigny les Beaune and Corton. These wines are supple, gentle, exceedingly elegant and well worth purchasing. Since our visit last year, Patrick’s dream of an appellation exclusively for generic wines from the Côte d’Or has been realised and the label of the estate’s Cuvée Oligocène proudly announces its new status.
