Situation : Meursault. Bottom of the slope.

Soil / Underground : Chalky-clay. Deep underground

Cultivation : Ploughed. No weedkiller or chemical fertilizer used.

From three plots with soils shading from white to red. Red fruit  offset by soft persistent tannins which melt as the wine drives to an energetic fresh finish.

Average age of the vines : 25 years old.

Situation : 5 plots. Top and bottom of the slope. South/east.

Hautes Côtes should be taken seriously. This wine has all the definition, purity and finesse of a much classier vineyard lower down. There is a complex interplay of fresh bright red fruit, silky tannin and gentle salinity, and it is harmonious to the end.

Soil / Underground : Chalky-Clay. Deep soil.

Cultivation : Ploughed. No weedkillers used.  No chemical fertilizers used.

Ageing : 20 months in oak barrels. 30 % new oak.

Succulent red fruit, smooth tannins (due to the clay) and finesse, salinity and length from the limestone. Nicely precise.

A blast of pure black cherry fruit is tinged with spice, the tannin is supple and there is a long fresh energetic finish.

Average age of the vine : 30 years old.

Situation : Commune of Volnay. At the foot of the hilside. South/east

Densely woven, silky and concentrated, with great depth, perfumed red fruit and discrete fine tannins all clearly outlined by the vibrant energy running through it.

Average age of the vine : 10 years old.

Situation : Slope. South/east.

Situation : 3 plots. Top of the slope. East.

Soil / Underground : Chalky-clay. Shallow soil. Rocky underground.

Cultivation : Ploughed. No weedkillers or chemical fertilizers used.

Made from two separate parcels: the lower one with reddish soils, the higher with paler ones. Chênes is a windy site, giving freshness and precision to brighten and balance the rich fruit. The tannins are melting and elegant, and there is a sappy dark mineral core.

The silky appeal of Volnay, with its fine pure red fruit, but also the power of Pommard in the form of rich black tannins. A very long elegant juicy finish.
