Arriving in the second week of March are the fabulous red wines from Boekenhoutskloof of Franschhoek, South Africa, including their incredibly sought-after "Chocolate Block" - surely one of the most intense and best value 'Chateauneuf-du-Pape-style' reds from anywhere in the new world - which can be reserved by the six-pack with a special pre-shipment discount.

The farm of Boekenhoutskloof was founded by Hugenot settlers back in the 1770s, who saw, in what became known as the Franschhoek Valley, a soil and Mediterranean-style climate that would be ideal for grape growing. Current owner and winemaker Marc Kent bought the property in the early nineties and, since then, has produced wines with big, bold, ripe and rich fruit character, but also structure and definition that allows good ageing prospects.

The Chocolate Block 2008 £101.94 per six inc. 15% discount (£16.99 per bottle - usually £19.99 each)
A big, bold, new world red made in the style of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, but showing its own distinctive character, that has seen this become one of South Africa's most sought-after 'cult' wines. There's no chocolate in it (as far as we know), but - wow - it's pretty chocolaty! And this is joined by intense, ripe and juicy blackberry, plum and spice notes to give a quite complex wine. Good to drink now - but could be cellared for another 2-3 years at least. **Limited availability**
